We require a 50%, non-refundable deposit for all livestock purchases. Refunds are only given when the animal becomes sick, injured, or involved in an accident while on our property and is no longer viable to sell. (Note: We have never experienced any of these scenarios.) Our vet is excellent, and we take every precaution to keep our animals safe.

How to prepare for your mini cow
We hold ourselves responsible for caring for our cattle and ensuring we sell to homes properly equipped to care for a miniature Highland. We strive to educate our buyers, so they feel confident in caring for their cows.
Three things you need to do to prepare for your miniature Highland:

Ensure your cow has a companion.
Cows are herd animals, and they do best when in a group. They are not happy, nor will they thrive as the only cow at a home or farm. We will not sell to a farm without other cattle for a companion or at least one “buddy.” We want you to enjoy a happy, healthy little cow with a positive outcome.

Ensure you have a pasture with shade.
Highlands are different from other breeds. They come from the Scottish Highlands and need shade and water (pond/lake) — especially in warmer climates. A pasture without trees and access to fresh water 24/7 is not acceptable.

Be prepared to have a calf that is at least 4-6 months old.
Although frequently requested, we do not sell bottle babies. We strive to keep our calves nursing with their mama to give them their best start in life and to build a healthy immune system. We do not bottle-feed our calves unless there is a health situation with the mama and she is unable to nurse her calf.
